Co-mayors of Bitlis and Güroymak imprisoned

BİTLİS – Bitlis Co-mayors Nevin Daşdemir and Hüseyin Olan and Güroymak Co-mayor M.Emin Özkan have been imprisoned.

Arrest against co-mayors of municipalities held by the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) continues. Bitlis Co-mayors Nevin Daşdemir and Hüseyin Olan, who had been taken into custody yesterday after a raid on the municipality building and homes, were sent to the court. Co-mayors have been imprisoned for “being members of an [illegal] organization”.
 
Meanwhile, Güroymak Co-mayor M. Emin Özkan, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Bitlis Provincial Co-chair Nazmiye Avras and provincial administrator Hamza Özkan, who were taken into custody on November 18, have also been imprisoned.
