New platform for women detained by Daesh

AMED – A new platform called "Struggle for Women Detainedby Daesh" has been founded in collaboration between the organizations and parties Congress of Free Women (KJA), Democratic Society Congress (DTK), Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions' Party (DBP).


Daesh gang members abducted thousands of women in their August attack on and occupation of Shengal, the Êzidicity located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.


A press conference to announce the formation and future plans of the platform will take place on Monday in the DTK building in Amed (Diyarbakır) with the attendance of DTK Co-Chair Selma Irmak; DBP General Co-Chair EmineAyna; Amed Co-Mayor GültanKışanak; DTKExecutive Board member FelaknasUca; and HDPParty Council member Fatma Kurtalan.
