ISTANBUL – New Democratic Woman Initiative has reacted to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s recent statements regarding the abortion, saying “As you declare the women who want to get rid of undesired pregnancy as a “murderer”, we can see your bloody hands closely. Whose blood on your hands?  How do you blame someone else, while blood of Roboski youngs –that you keep on running down their names- Uğur, Ceylan, Yahya, Enes is on your hands”

Another reaction has come from New Democratic Woman Initiative regarding Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’srecent statements about abortion. Initiative reminds the statements of Turkey Statistics Institute a day before Erdoğan’s speech. TÜİK found that young population –which is defined as the biggest wealth of Turkey- has been extremely decreasing. For business men, this means decrease in labour force and the ranks of the unemployed who are the candidates to work as a slave with low prices. Then, the male-dominated structure immidiately should step in and woman body should be interfered by the fatwas which orders at least three children. So “murders” like abortion should be prevented, and cesarean –which prevents more than three births- should be banned. There should be regulations which provide women to give birth “like a woman”, therefore everything should be under control.     

‘As the blood of Enes is on your hand, how could you blame someone else as a murderer?’

New Woman Initiative stated that Prime Minister’s equating Qilaban Massacre with abortion is the sign of his creativity. “On the one hand you give fetwas which assume the women as “brood machine”, on the other hand you make fun of people’s consciousness of struggle against Uludere Massacre. That is the infinity of Prime Minister’s creativity. “ they said. Pointing out violence against women, massacres and violation of rights, “As you are the Prime Minister of this country and then you mention abortion as a murder. Such kind of bluntness is not good for anyone, Prime Minister. As you declare the women -who want to get rid of undesired pregnancy- as a “murderer”, we can see your bloody hands closely. Whose blood on your hands?  How do you blame someone else, while blood of Roboski youngs –that you keep on running down their names- Uğur, Ceylan, Yahya, Enes is on your hands” they said.
