Three arrests in case of woman burned alive

MANISA – Three people have been arrested in the case of a woman found burned alive in an olive grove in Manisa, near the Aegean city of Izmir. The woman is suspected to be 20-year-old deaf woman E.G., who was escaping her family in Izmir to stay with her boyfriend.
The burnt woman's body was found on Sunday, February 22 in a shed in an olive grove located in the Hasköy neighborhood, in the Akhisar area of Manisa province. There are some leads in the investigation, although the woman's identity is not yet certain. The woman's DNA has been sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute for identification.
The suspected victim'sfamilyhad reported her missing to the police twice. She had left her family without notifying them and was suspected of going to Akhisar, where her boyfriend (who she had met in a school for the hearing-impaired) lives. Her boyfriend, mother and sister, all of whom are deaf, have now been arrested.
