RIHA – The body of Pınar Özer (code name ŞinSemsur), a fighter who lost her life in the struggle with Daesh gang members, has been brought across the border for her funeral.
Pınar was killed on February 26 in a tank attack on the eastern front of Kobanê, where she was taking part in the operation to drive occupying Daesh gang members out of the villages of Bexdik and Idaniye.
At the Mürşitpınar Border Gate, Pınar's family and members of MEYADER, an association for solidarity with families of those killed in war in Mesopotamia, received her coffin with Kurdish slogans "martyrs don't die," "long live President Apo" and "long live the YPJ resistance." After being examined at the Forensic Institute in Riha (Urfa), Pınar will be sent to the Çilek neighborhood of Mersin province's Akdeniz region tomorrow to be buried in the BekirDede cemetery.
