AMED – The coffin of MLKP fighter Ivana Hoffman, brought to Diyarbakır late last night, has been sent to Germany.Ivana's mother, Michaela Hoffman, says she is proud of her daughter for losing her life for the sake of the freedom of the Kurdish people.

Ivana, born in Germany, joined the MLKP (Marxist Leninist Communist Party) and traveled to Rojava to defend the ongoing revolution there against Daesh attacks under the nom de guerre AvaşînTêkoşînGüneş. Ivana lost her life recently in TilTemir while battling Daesh gangs. Her family and comrades traveled to the Nusabin-Qamişlo border gate yesterday to receive her coffin. Late last night, they brought it to Diyarbakır.

In spite of the late hour, a small crowd gathered at the entrance to Diyarbakır outside a gas station to greetIvana's coffin as it entered the city with cries of "martyrs never die."Members of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), MEYA-DER (an association for aiding families of those lost in war in Mesopotamia), the Peace Mothers' Assembly and the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) accompanied the coffin. The coffin was taken to the morgue and then, in a convoy of dozens of cars, to the Diyarbakır Airport.

Ivana will be buried in Germany.
