Thousands bid farewell to Ivana Hoffmann

NEWS CENTER – In a ceremony in Duisburg, thousands came together to honor internationalist MLKP fighter Ivana Hoffman yesterday. Ivana was buried wrapped in the flag of the Red Army in memory of her battle against fascist Daesh gangs in TilTemir, in Rojava'sCizîre Canton.


The groups Assyrian Women's Union, New Woman and Kurdish Movement in Europe organized their ceremony, inviting representatives from dozens of German, Turkish, left and pro-democracy groups. Salih Muslim, co-chair of Rojava's Democratic Union Party (PYD), was among the guests, as was FigenYüksekdağ, co-chair of Turkey's Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP).


Ivana Hoffmann, nom de guerre AvaşînTêkoşînGüneş, lost her life on March 7 in the battle to defend the area of TilTemir, under heavy Daesh attack particularly due to its Assyrian and Syriac population.
