ANKARA – The İmralı Delegation will travel to visit jailed PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan one last time before the Newroz holiday on the island where he is imprisoned.

The formation of theİmralı Delegation of opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and civil society organization activists has represented a new step in the process for the peaceful resolution of the Kurdish question. Their last trip toİmralı took place on March 13.

Now, they will return for a final meeting before the Newroz holiday (Kurdish New Year), when Öcalan is expected to release a speech. This year, millions are expecting an audio or video message from the jailed leader.

The delegation has announced that a monitoring delegation has been formed, but will not be going to this meeting. They have not announced who will take part in the monitoringdelegation.
