ISTANBUL – A six-month-old girl died yesterday because of her father's violence in the Beylikdüzü neighborhood of Istanbul.

From what is known of the case, the father had slammed the girl against the wall because he said that she was crying too much. The baby was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and recorded as dying in an "accident."

Allegedly, the father had wanted a boy and not a girl. He had a long history of emotional abuse against his wife.

The father has been jailed and the baby will be buried today.
