RIHA -Thousands of people hurried to Suruç's Etmanek village at the border with Kobanê to join in the Newroz celebrations beginning there.

In spite of Turkish soldiers' checkpoints in several places around the town and border gate, thousands have come together at the district center in Suruç, boarded buses and minibuses there, and come to the village of Etmanek. Many of the citizens are trying to reach the village on foot.

Thousands dressed in regional clothes have begun to celebrate the Newroz holiday joyfully at the border line of now-free Kobanê. A placard reading "Enough is enough, freedom for Öcalan" has been hung behind the scene. Alongside YPG/YPJ flags and posters of Öcalan hang placards and banners celebrating democratic autonomy, women's liberation, freedom for the jailed leader and the resistance in Shengal and Kobanê.

The crowds of people are dancing Kurdish traditional line dancers and celebrating Newroz, crying slogans in support of YPG/YPJ fighters and Kurdish leader Öcalan.

In addition to DTK (Democratic Society Congress), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) co-chairs and MPs, regional co-mayors, and members of the İmralı Delegation, foreign delegations will also join the celebration.

The MKM (Mesopotamia Culture Center) Revolutionary Songs Chorus, Hozan Comert, Cevdet Bağca, Grup Vardiya, Koma Welate Rojê and Grup Rojava will take the stage.
