NEWS CENTER -TEV-DEM has announced a ‘Resolution Project for a Democratic Syria’ to find a way out of the current crisis.

The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM), the umbrella organization for Kurdish associations in Rojava, announced that it has sent its plan to various groups in Syria. It intends to encapsulate all of the many peoples of the country and has invited groups to joint talks about the resolution project.

The project's basic principles are: transforming an understanding based on coercion and chauvinistic nationalism into a democratic and inclusive understanding; waging a war against Salafi groups, whatever their name; defending Syria; and respecting all the elements that make up Syria.

The proposal calls for a conference, observed by the United Nations, at which participants will form an assembly with representatives of all communities, women and youth with one committee working to draft a democratic constitution and another preparing for a general election in the country.

The assembly would work towards a ceasefire, the release of all political prisoners, relations with states involved and with the UN, and to form an administration to organize elections.

The assembly’s authority and tasks would end when the crisis in Syria is over and a new government is established.
