MÊRDÎN–On day six of the "Freedom for Öcalan" march from the Cizre district of Şırnak province, new volunteers are joining the marchers, now setting out for their final destination: Diyarbakır, for the March 21 Newroz celebrations expected to draw millions.

The people of the Botan region, starting out in the Cizre region of Şırnak province, passed last night through the city of Mardin. They spent the night in the village of Axreşkê.

The number of marchers has now reached 1,500. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Mardin MP GülserYıldırım and Şırnak MP FaysalSarıyıldız have also joined in the march.

Activists are expected to walk about 40 kilometers a day for the demand of freedom for Öcalan.
