Hesekê commemorates Newroz Martyrs

HESEKÊ –Yesterday, the Rojava city of Hesekêmourned the civilians killed in the bombings on Newroz celebrations carried out by Daesh last week. The 52 dead are now officially honored as the "Newroz Martyrs," in a joint political decision by the different political assemblies and parties in the cantons.
52 people have lost their lives because of the 20 March Newroz bombings on Newroz celebrations in the Muftî neighborhood.Thousands gathered outside the Martyrs' Families Foundation in the city to join the convoy to nearbyDawudiye Village, where 29 of those lost were buried in a martyrs' cemetery. The other victims are being buried in other cemeteries at their families' requests.
Citizens bore flags, signs and banners as they marched to the village, where the civilians were given a military ceremony. Groups from across the political spectrum were present at the ceremony, including the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS), the People's Democratic Movement (TEV-DEM) and the Kurdish Political Agreement Assembly (Lêveger)
"No one can break our unity," said NesrendînÎbrahîm of Lêveger. "Martyrs never die."
TEV-DEM Executive Assembly member AldarXelil also spoke.
"The gangs have to know that these cowardly and low attacks will never break the will of our people. Our people are marching towards freedom step by step every day."
