QAMIŞLO – With Abdullah Öcalan's 66^th birthday approaching on April 4^th and efforts to liberate him from 16 years of captivity gathering speed, YPJ fighters on the Til Barak front have written a song for the jailed PKK leader.

YPJ fighter ArînSabrî says it is painful to see Abdullah Öcalan, who has been working for peace in the world for so long, imprisoned this year. The song the women have written describes the women's pain at the absence of the leader and the strength they derive from his existence.

"Every time his birthday approaches, I hope that maybe he'll be here with us," she said. "But we believe that whatever happens, we will get him out of prison. We're dreaming of the day that we will meet him in person."
