NEWS CENTER -  As tens of thousands flood into the small town of Halfeti in Urfa province to celebrate the birthday of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, organizers have set up a photograph exhibition.

Among the thousands flooding into ParqaAzadiyê (Freedom Park) in Halfeti was a woman carrying a disabled young man on her back, along with thousands dressed in traditional Kurdish clothes. There is barely a square inch left on the walls and stage around the square, hung with photographs of martyred fighters, signs calling for Öcalan's freedom and flags.

A photograph exhibition has been set up in a tent containing thousands of photographs of the jailed PKK leader, some of them rarely seen. Outside, the Kurdish language promotional body KURDÎ-DER has set up a stand selling books.The rally will begin shortly.
