NEWS CENTER – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon has called for immediate intervention for the Palestinians in Yarmouk refugee camp, overrun by Daesh gangs and facing threats from both the Ba'ath regime and Daesh forces.

"What is unfolding in Yarmouk is unacceptable. We simply cannot stand by and watch a massacre unfold," said Ki-Moon. Daesh gangs took control of the camp on April 1. The Palestinian and Syrian refugee residents of the camp have been living under assault from all sides for the last two years due to the civil war. Now, Daesh has taken them as hostages in the conflict.

Ki-Moon said that there are 3,500 people in the camp. He said that the beheadings and other crimes in the camp are war crimes and called on countries to intervene.
