QAMIŞLO - Heavy fighting is ongoing on the western border of Cizîrê Canton, where Daesh started launching attacks on February 23, said the YPG Press Office in a statement. YPG/YPJ forces report that they have largely repelled the Daesh assault.

Yesterday morning,Daesh gangs launched a major attack between Hasekê and Til Temir with tank, armored vehicle and heavy weaponry reinforcements brought in from various locations in Syria. The wave of attacks took place over a nine-kilometer long front, particularly targeting the Xerîta Bridge—the only bridge in the Xabur River region. The epicenter of clashes was 23 kilometers from Hesekê and 14 kilometers from Til Temir. Attacks also targeted villages of Til Baz, Til Cezîrê, Xerîta, Til Tal, Til Necmê and a poultry farm near Til Necmê.

YPG/YPJ forces repelled the gangs from the area, killing 23 gang members and seizing ammunition. Six YPG fighters lost their lives.

YPG/YPJ fighters thwarted another attack attempted by gang groups in the village of Xebîsh in Til Temir last night. They destroyed a military vehicle of the gangs en route between Til Temir and Alya, with unverified numbers of casualties.

As for Kobanê Canton, resistance continues on the 207th day of efforts to free the canton from all Daesh occupation. YPG/YPJ launched an attack on gang groups near the village of Sepeta Ereban to the south of Kobanê, apparently leavingtwo gang members dead.

YPG/YPJ forces launched another wave of attacks in southeast Kobanê last night, aimed at liberating the villages of Minîfê Kor and Xweydankê, as well as the Çelebî quarry area. Another statement on the battle there is expected soon.
