Ağrı towns shut down in protest of military operation

AGIRÎ - The shopkeepers in the towns of Diyadin and Doğubeyazit in Northern Kurdistan have not opened their shops to protest against the Turkish military operation that killed two, including one civilian, yesterday.

The shopkeepers and crafts in Diyadin and Doğubeyazit districts of the eastern province of Ağrı have shut down their shops today in an act of protest. The Turkish military's operation on Mt. Tendürek yesterday ended in civilian death, as soldiers opened fire on HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Diyadin former district co-chair Cezmi Budak.

Apart from pharmacies and bakeries, all the workplaces have remained closed in the two districts, with Turkish police out in the streets in the town.
