ANKARA – Late last night unknown attackers launched an armed attack on the Ankara headquarters of opposition party Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP).

"There was an armed attack against our general headquarters this morning. The provocation is continuing. We won't be afraid," Tweeted HDP politician Sırrı Süreyya Önder, running for parliament with the party in Ankara.

Sırrı Süreyya Tweeted that an analysis team only arrived at the HDP headquarters at 10:16 a.m., ten hours after the attack.
