ANKARA – Two have been arrested on suspicion of carrying out the armed attack on the general headquarters of opposition party Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) that took place late Friday night, early Saturday morning.

The individuals, initials K.B.Ş. and B.K., respectively, were arrested based on license plate information at the time of the crime. K.B.Ş. had been tried in July 2011 for throwing a Molotov cocktail at the Ankara provincial office of the party BDP (Peace and Democracy Party), a predecessor party of the HDP.

The two were arrested yesterday and taken to the police station for questioning.
