Al Nusra slays 35 in Alevi village

NEWS CENTER - Al Nusra gangs attacked an Alevi village in northern Syria yesterday, massacring 35, according to reports from Lebanese TV station Al Meyadin.

The gangs attacked the village of Istebrak at the Syrian-Turkish border yesterday. The attack comes as part of the Al Nusra gang’s increasing activity in northern Syria. At least 69 people have also reportedly lost their lives in two separate attacks in the town of Idlib near the northern border of Syria.

Chechen gang group Muhacirun and Ve'l Ensar also reportedly took part in the mass killing in the Alevi village.

Sources in the region say that over 100 people have been massacred and many others were wounded. Gangs also seized villagers’ property.

Meanwhile, Turkish police attacked at the crowd protesting the massacre in the province of Hatay yesterday. A group of citizens gathered up in the Armutlu neighborhood of Antakya (Antioch) during the evening hours of Wednesday. Police attempted to prevent the solidarity protest with gas bombs and tear gas.
