ISTANBUL - Armed men attacked two trans women in Istanbul over the weekend.

Two apparently Syrian men knifed Gülşen, a trans woman, in her home in the Şişli neighborhood. In another neighborhood, Harbiye, two unknown men shot Eda, another trans woman, in the leg when she was walking down the street. Both women were rushed to the ŞişliEtfal Teaching and Research Hospital. Gülşen's condition was serious.

A large group of LGBTQI activists headed to the hospital, where they held a forum. They said they lacked support from LGBTI associations.
