Four trans attacks in one night in Turkey

NEWS CENTER – With attacks on trans women in Turkey taking place in three separate provinces in one night, the sexual health group Red Umbrella has called for authorities to immediately find the attackers.
Saturday night saw a total of four separate attacks on trans women across Turkey.
In Istanbul, two trans women were attacked in two separate parts of the Şişliarea. One, Gülşen, was found stabbed in her home. Two unknown men shot another trans woman, named Eda, in the Harbiye part of Şişli.
In the city of Izmir, unknown attackers stabbed a trans sex worker from behind that night. Finally, in the city of Kocaeli, a client attacked three trans sex workers in their new home.
Red Umbrella Sexual Health and Human Rights Association called for immediate solidarity with all trans sex workers in the wake of the attacks. The organization called for charges against all the attackers, none of whom have been found by police.
