YALOVA – After police ignored threats against Seda Camgöz of Yalova province, her ex-husband killed her yesterday in public.
Seda's ex-husband Bülent Diler stabbed her in the middle of the street in Yalova, Turkey yesterday. Seda, a public relations expert at a preparatory school, had repeatedly reported to police "he's going to kill me." As Seda was leaving her house yesterday early in the morning to go to work, Bülent stabbed her outside her home. Shopkeepers called an ambulance for Seda, who was bleeding from nine wounds. She lost her life in the hospital.
Bülent Diler has been arrested as the Yalova Republican Prosecutor investigates the killing.
This was the second femicide of the day in Turkey, where musician Değer Deniz was found dead in her home in Istanbul yesterday as well. 101 women have now been killed in Turkey in the first four months of 2015.
