Londoners plan Ferinaz action

NEWS CENTER – As protests for FerinazXosrawanî, the young Kurdish woman who fell to her death escaping a rape attempt by Iranian security officers, spread, London residents have called a protest for today at 3 p.m.

Ferinaz, 26, died on Wednesday as she tried to escape an attempt by an Iranian security officer to rape her in the hotel in which she worked.Ferinaz's city of Mahabad has erupted in uprising, including the burning of the Tara Hotel, whose manager locals say arranged the rape in order to get a fifth star for the establishment. Kurds across the Middle East and Europe have taken to the streets to condemn the Iranian regime's politics of sexual violence against Kurdish women and to express solidarity with the Mahabad rebellion.

Londoners have called a protest for 3 p.m. today at Trafalgar Square in solidarity with Ferinaz.
