ŞIRNEX – In the Kurdish city of Cizre, Turkey, women successfully pushed back a police team who entered their neighborhood to conduct house raids last night.

Yesterday evening, a team of police entered the neighborhood of Yafes with armored vehicles. The police forcibly stormed several houses, conducting random house raids and heading up to the rooftops of the homes.

It was neighborhood women who stopped the raid. Although police opened fire on the women and their children with rubber bullets, the women did not stop assembling. After neighborhood women's quick assembly, police were forced to give up the house raid operation and pull out of the neighborhood.
