Massive attendance at final HDP rally before Turkey's election

WAN – The final Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) elections rally of the elections season is beginning today in the eastern city of Van, Turkey with the attendance of tens of thousands.
The Van event is at once the first rally since double bombs killed four at a mass HDP rally in Diyarbakır and the last rally before the ban on electioneering begins today at 6:00 p.m. Tens of thousands have headed to the rally site, decorated with the colorful banners of the party. Figen Yüksekdağ, the party's general co-chair, is expected to speak before the crowd in the coming hours.
Municipal police have set up checkpoints at four different locations at the entrance to the field. Intense security measures are in place for the rally.
