TIL TEMIR– In the city of Til Temir, Dr. Ogola Rossahas continued her profession as a doctor throughout the ongoing Rojava revolution.

Ogola first came to Til Temir years ago with her husband of 11 years, Hesen Emîn, to raise their children around Kurdish culture. She noted that the ongoing attempt to assimilate the Kurdish people made it especially important to her that her children learn Kurdish.

"When I started to live among the Kurdish people, I became very close to them. I learned Kurdish, as did my children," said Ogola, who has also learned Arabic. She says the people of Til Temir have never discriminated against her for her Moldovan culture or Christian religion, and in fact have been very respectful.

Today, Ogola works in the Red Crescent of Kurdistan.

"After the violent attacks on Til Temir, we and the medical teams distributed medicine to the people. After the villages were liberated, we provided aid to the people who had suffered for months at the hands of the [Daesh] gangs," said Ogola. She says she has no regrets about leaving behind her country to come here, whatever the conditions may be.

"On the contrary, I see myself as very lucky to have been able to come to Rojava and live here," she said.
