KARAMAN – A man in the Turkish province of Karaman has killed five, including his wife.
26-year-old Hakan Narlı said he "wanted to talk" with his wife of three years, Şerife Şahin, when he came to her family's home in the inner Anatolian province of Karaman, Turkey last night. Şerife had fled the couple's home for her family's house with their one-year-old son, but Hakan had continued to harass her. Last night, after waiting outside the house for several minutes, Hakan entered the family home with a shotgun around 7 p.m. He killed five people, two of them children.
Hakan shot and killed his wife Şerife, her mother Ayşe Şahin, her cousin Hüseyin Akkulak and Şerife's two younger sisters, Şeyda (12) and Şeyma (13). He then abducted his one-year-old son and fled the scene.
Hakan has turned himself over to police and an investigation has begun.
