BİLECİK - A man has shot and killed his wife in Bilecik, Turkey, despite the restraining order against him.

36-year-old Yasemin Örencik had received a restraining order against her husband, 46-year-old Mustafa Örencik, in the course of her divorce case against him. Recently, Mustafa came to her home in the Osmangazi neighborhood of Bilecik. Yasemin refused to allow him in, but Mustafa broke down the door with a shotgun in his hands. Yasemin tried to protect herself with a knife and a brief scuffle ensued.

Yasemin managed to escape Mustafa and ran outside. Mustafa chased after her, opening fire with the shotgun as she fled. Yasemin fell to the ground with birdshot wounds to her head and back. Mustafa, arriving at her dead body, put the shotgun to his own head and pulled the trigger.

Investigations are ongoing.
