Iraqi Kurdish government refuses passage to YPG/YPJ bodies

ŞIRNEX - After representatives of the ruling government in Iraqi Kurdistan refused passage to the bodies of fallen YPG/YPJ and HPG fighters across the Iraqi-Turkish border, the bodies have been sent back to Rojava.

The bodies of 13 fallen YPG/YPJ and HPG fighters have been taken back to the Dêrik city of Cizîr Canton, Rojava, after KDP officials prevented their passage through the Sêmalka Border Gate. The bodies would have been taken from Southern Kurdistan (in Iraq) to Northern Kurdistan (in Turkey) for burial.

LeylaBirlik, a HDP representative for Şırnak, met with Şırnak governor Ali İhsan Su. Leyla related that the governor said there were strict orders to not to allow the passage of the bodies through the Habur Border Gate.
