Women’s rights activist detained in Nusaybin

MÊRDÎN – Turkish police have detained women’s rights activist Şehriban Altınışık in the largely Kurdish city of Nusaybin.
Şehriban Altınışık was walking from the party building of the local Democratic Regions Party (DBP) branch to the market with an individual named Yaşar Adoğan yesterday when police stopped and detained them both. The two were taken to the local police department in an armored vehicle.
Şehriban Altınışık is an activist with the Kurdish women’s organization Congress of Free Women (KJA). The reason for her detention is not known.
