QAMIŞLO – Nazdar Xelef one of the girls who were kidnapped by ISIS gangs during the attack against Şengal, rescued as a result of works conducted. Nazdar stating that she was a prisoner by the gangs for three months, asked to be rescued her other friends too.

The works conducted for the rescue of women and children kidnapped by ISIS gangs during the attack against Şengal continues. IĞASE (Rojava Help Institution) provides aid to the people who returned to Rojava who are experiencing economic problems or whose homes were destroyed in the war or whose lives are in danger and also conducted activities to rescue many Yazidi women and children. One of the rescued as a result of attempts by IĞASE is a Yazidi girl named Nazdar Xelef.

”We had a really bad days”

Noting that Help Institution saved them from an enormous danger, Nazdar said that she was held captive for three months by the gangs. Nazdar expressed that besides, herself there are about 200 girls who are held by the gangs. She said, ”Now my friends are in their hands. They sell them. They kill them.” Some of the girls tried to kill themselves because of being there, but we prevented them. We couldn’t prevent some of them; they killed themselves. We had really bad days. What happened to Yazidi women hasn’t happened to no one,” she said.

‘I didn’t believe I would come together with my family’

Nazdar, describing the moment of being rescued from the gangs, continued her words as follows: ISIS is a [huge and evil] organization so I didn’t believe that I could get free of them and come back together with my family. IĞASE (Rojava Help Institution) risked their own lives to save us from enormous danger. I owe a debt of gratitude to these friends. I will not forget them during all my life. They saved me from death. I send my greetings to the Help Institution which rescued me, the people of Rojava, and the leader APO.

Nazdar noted that she is in Qamişlo now and she will come together with her family soon. She said that all she wants is that her friends also be rescued like her.
