Women continue to protect their neighborhoods

AMED- Reacting the massacres of the women and the blockades in Sur and other districts in Kurdistan,Diyarbakır women said, “They should know that women are endless and they will never obey.The women will struggle everywhere and they will play an important role in protecting their neighborhoods and areas where they are living.”

The resistances of people are on the 37th day in Sur district of Diyarbakır and 25th day in Cizre and Silopi districts of Şırnak against the blockade(refering to the 24 hours curfews). Medine Çur, reacted the martial law practices and said, “Our people’s dead bodies remain on the Street, that’s enough.The more they ban,the more we will be on the areas. We won’t leave our people’s dead bodies on the streets anymore.”

One another women Gülseren Bırakmak stressed the words of fraternity expressions and said, “since we are brothers and sisters why are Kurds killed? When the issue is Kurds,they keep silent, they kill our youth. Even they kill our youth now our children will take their place when they grow up. Turkey should understand that this problem can not be solved with blood. Are we in which century? This is a century of education and negotiation.” Gülseren addressed the 24-hour- curfew which has been imposed in Sur for 37 days and she said, “There is a massacre policy in Sur. Our youth are fighting heroically there. The State will not beat the Kurds whatever it does. The more they kill, the more Kurds will be.”

Women will play an impartant role in protecting their lands

Mekiye Özgün,another women in Diyarbakır said, “The Prime Minister and the President makes statement on television and they say ‘No civilians being killed, all killed are terrorists’. If they had a little sense of shame or dignity,they would not kill a mother and her unborn baby and a mother who had breakfast with her children. Their aim is to wipe up the women but they should know that women are endless and they will never obey. and they will play an important role in protecting their neighborhoods and areas where they are living.”
