ŞIRNEX – 12-year-old Yusuf Akkalın, one of three children wounded in the town of Cizre yesterday when artillery struck his house, has passed away.

For 33 days, Turkish state forces have maintained martial law in the town of Cizre. Yesterday, a house was shelled, wounding three children. The wounded children were rushed to the Cizre State Hospital by ambulance. 12-year-old Yusuf Akkalın could not be saved. The other two children remain in treatment.

Meanwhile, heavy clashes broke out in the Cudi neighborhood yesterday evening between state forces and the YPS (Civil Defense Force).
