Body of woman assassinated in Kızıltepe still in morgue

MÊRDÎN – After state forces conducted a summary execution of four people in the town of Kızıltepe, the body of an unidentified woman victim of the attack is being kept in the morgue.
On the evening of January 12, police killed four individuals in the Kızıltepe district of Mardin province. The identities of three of the victims have been learned. Cengiz Erdem was the district director for the political party Democratic Regions Party (DBP). The other two victims were Selahattin Arasan and Mizgin Karageçili. The three were identified by their families, then given funerals.
Meanwhile, the identity of the third victim is still unknown. Turkey’s state news agency Anadolu Agency claimed in their coverage that the woman was Fatma Yüksel, the PKK member responsible for the area. However, Fatma’s family came to identify the family and testified that it was not her.
The unidentified women’s body is still being kept in the morgue.
