Feryal Öney: Incontestable right to demand self-government

İSTANBUL - Feryal Öney, one soloist of Kardeş Türküler, said, " You can not govern this country. The people want to be free and equal. They want to feel they are human. This is an incontestable right." Feryal said she supports the demand of self-government.

Feryal Önel spoke to Cumhuriyet Newspaper. Reminding Hacı Lokman Birlik who was executed and his body was tied to the back of an armored vehicle, Feryal said, " There is a terrible war in the East. A great crime against humanity has been commited in the region. We could get the news only from dissident newspapers in 90s. However, everyone can get the news instantly. No one can say we don't hear or we don't know what is going on in the region."

Talking about the academics who signed an peace petiton, Feryal commented about the increasing number whose say "I am also against this war". Feryal said, " We are not stand with death, we are stand with life."
Feryal also answered the question about self-government. Feryal said, " Self-government must be. You already can not govern this country.You just want to govern by imposing hierarchy. The people want to be free and equal. They want to feel they are human. This is an incontestable right."
