ANKARA - HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ attended the congress of the HDP Sultangazi District Organization. Police stopped her car and pointed a gun at her car and threatened her she returned from the congress. The HDP Women's Assembly reacted to this incident. They said, "Your attacks have failed so far, you will not discourage us."

HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ attended the congress of the HDP Sultangazi District Organization. After her speech, she left the congress in her official vehicle. Her car was stopped by special forces in the Gazi neighborhood of Istanbul. Special forces pointed a gun in front of car. Figen's driver told them "The HDP co-chair is in the car". However, special forces threatened them, saying, "This is Gazi; we decide who can come and go here." The HDP Women Assembly made a written statement on the issue.

The statement reads, "The AKP- palace power knows no limit of misogyny. They have targeted the representativeness of women in politics and our party in the person of our party co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ for long time. This power threatened Mrs. Yüksekdağ and all resistant women before many times. They employed the same method once again. Special forces who pointed a gun in front of Figen Yüksedağ's car act by the orders of the power like the people who kill, torture and execute the women and expose the body of women. We know that the women's political struggle was targetted with this attack. Your attacks have failed so far, you will not discourage us. On the contrary, the HDP women will take more place in politics for women's freedom."
