Mysteriously arrested woman jailed

RIHA – A woman who shouted her name as she was arrested in Urfa, Turkey yesterday has been jailed based on the books on her tablet.
A woman was walking in the street in Urfa, Turkey when police stopped and forcibly arrested her. As she was taken away, she cried out her name, Dilek Kaya. Police claimed that Dilek was arrested on the basis of “reasonable doubt”; the partisan pro-state media accused Dilek of being a “suicide bomber.”
The court in Urfa has ruled that Dilek be jailed. According to her lawyer, the prosecutor is charging Dilek with being a “member of DHKP-C” (the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front). The evidence shown was the books she had on her tablet.
Dilek has been sent to the Urfa E-Type Closed Prison.
