NEWS CENTER – An activist in Germany has staged a performance outside the Hamburg Parliament to protest the killing of a woman in Cizre and the exposure of her naked dead body.

An activist in Hamburg, Germany has staged a one-woman protest against the Turkish state’s occupation of the town of Cizre with a performance. The Kurdish woman activist, who lay on the ground outside the state parliament, made a statement to call attention to the sharing of photographs of an unknown naked and tortured Cizre woman on social media.

“I am protesting the use of women’s bodies in particular as warzones, and the exposure of these bodies as a show of force,” said the woman. “Rape and the murder of women have always been war’s most important and dirtiest weapons, and unfortunately this continues to be the case.”

The activist noted that occupying forces are now turning this weapon against the people of Cizre in an attempt to “dishonor” them.

“The most important thing they have forgotten is this: my body belongs to no one,” said the woman. “My body does not represent anyone’s honor; it does not represent the honor of my people.”

The woman noted that she was targeting her protest at the German state for their relationship with Turkey.
