NEW CENTER - Union of Turkish Bar Associations(TBB) prepared a report on Syrian refugess. According the report, Syrian women are forced to marry, girls are sold and exposed to sexual violence.

'Asylum Seekers and Refugees Report' was prepared by the Union of Turkish Bar Associations(TBB). The report was prepared by Uğur Altun, member of Executive Board of Human Rights Center and Chairman of the Refugee Working Group of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations(TBB) and his firends in two years. They searched the refugees camps in Urfa, Adıyaman, Mersin, Suruç and Harran. The report consists of the subjects of the temporary protection of refugees in Turkey, their place in international law, The effects of migration on refugees, died of refugees in the sea, the refugees women who stay out of the camps forced into prostitution and mendicity. The report reads; “Women and girls are forced to marry as second,third and fourth wife for money. Meanwhile, Syrian women forced into prostitution. Girls are taken from their families by promising of marriage. Then, they are forced into prostitution. According the expression of the people interviewed in the camps in Adıyaman and Şanlıurfa, the number of those forced into prostitution have increased day by day.”

Meanwhile, girls are forced to marry under the name of “imam marriage”.

According the report, thhe number of refugees has been increased due to the wrong policies. The Syrian refugees don’t have legal status and their future are uncertainties. “ The refugees and the country are demaged due to these uncertainties. A legal statü must be given to these people.”
