SHENGAL - Shengal Women Units (YJŞ) commander Deniz Dağ made statement about March 8, International Women's Day. Deniz pointed out that women must start every day as the day of resistance.

Shengal Women Units (YJŞ) commander Deniz Dağ made statement about March 8, International Women's Day. Deniz stated that March 8 is very important for women. "Women revolted on March 8 and they didn't accept the persecution of power. They didn't surrender." Deniz stated that they defend women in Rojava witt the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), in Shengal with the Shengal Women Units (YJŞ) and in North Kurdistan with Women's Civil Defense Forces (YPS-JIN).

"Now, women have power and willpower thanks to Rêber Apo (refer to the leader of the PKK Abdullah Öcalan). Women say that I am mine. I don't belong to anyone. Women must be stronger than before to frustrate the men who think that women are their goods." said Deniz.

Deniz emphasized that women must start every day as the day of resistance. "Women should start every day as March 8. Women must endeavor to build free life and democratic nations. We, as YJŞ, will endeavor to end for women's freedom. We wish a happy March 8, International Women's Day, to all women around the world."
