AMED - 22 citizens who had been trapped in a basement of the Sur district of Diyarbakır, were evacuated four days ago. Eight of them, including Remziye Tosun and her two year-old daughter Beritan were sent to jail by court on duty.

22 citizens who had been trapped in a basement of the Sur district, were evacuated by ambulance on March 3. After four days detention, they were sent to Court on duty. There were 11 children among the 22 citizens. 10 of them were released. A child mentally disabled named M.Ç. was sent to jail on charges of being a "member of an illegal organization."

Other 11 citizens were sent to the Court on duty allegedly, "disrupt the unity and territorial integrity of the state" and "undermine the constitutional order" after prosecution testimony. Eight of them, among them Remziye Tosun and her two-year-old daughter Beritan were sent to jail on the same grounds. Bahattin Erkaplan, Hülya Erkaplan and Aynur Arslan have been released.
