DIRBÊSİYÊ - Rojava women said that they dedicate this year's March 8 to the women who resist in North Kurdistan."The borders will never prevent the women's struggle for freedom. We will interlock around our leadership's free ideas and raise our struggle."

Rojava women organized a rally in Dirbêsiyê town of Cizîr Canton related to March 8, International Women's Day. Şaha Xelil, one of executives of Kongra Star in Qamişlo, spoke to JINHA. Şaha said that they dedicate March 8, International Women's Day, 2016 to the women who resist in North Kurdistan.

"We, as Rojava women, will do our best for the freedom of Leader Apo (refer to Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the PKK) who developed the pioneering the idea of liberating of Kurdish women. We will liberate ourselves and our leadership. I wish a happy March 8, International Women's Day, to all women who are figthing behind the barricades and trenches. Let's raise our struggle and liberate Leader Apo." said Şaha.

Roza Tolhildan from General Diplomacy of the Movement for a Democratic Society (TEVDEM), said, "This year's March 8 is different than other years. Because, women in North Kurdistan have resisted in a burning war this year. The borders will never prevent the women from meeting for struggle for freedom. We will raise our struggle by interlocking around our leadership's free ideas."
