WAN - Five journalists, including our reporter Vildan Atmaca was taken into custody on November 13 in Erciş district of Van while they were covering news. Vildan Atmaca had been released on condition of trial without arrest after the first hearing. As four journalists, including Vildan, have been acquitted in the case of journalists, the reporter of Ajans Erciş, Ömer Yılmaz has been sentenced one year.

Our reporter Vildan Atmaca had been taken into custody with Idris Yılmaz; reporter of Dicle News Agency (DİHA), Bekir Güneş; reporter of IMC TV, Ruşen Takva; former cameraman of IMC TV and Ömer Yılmaz; reporter of Ajans Erciş on November 13 while following up news during armed conflicts in Tendürek neighborhood of Erciş district of Van province and had been arrested due to accusations of "defaming the President through social media" and "propagandizing for the terrorist organization" on November 14.Vildan was referred to a court and she was accused to 'making terrorist propaganda"' because she posted Arin Mirkan photo the YPJ fighter on social media. Vildan had been released on December 29 after the first hearing. Today, the summary judgment of Vildan and other journalists was held. As four journalists, including our reporter Vildan have been acquitted, the reporter of Ajans Erçiş, Ömer Yılmaz has been sentenced one year for "insulting the officer".
