Support visits to Freedom vigil continue

İSTANBUL - "Freedom vigil" is holding in front of Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison to support the academics for peace. The support visits to the vigil has continued.

When 1,128 academics in Turkey signed a statement called "We will not be party to this crime" calling on the Turkish state to end its blockades and attacks on Kurdish cities, an investigation was begun into the academics. A vigil called "Freedom vigil" has begun in front of Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison to support the academics those who were arrested on March 15. Banners have been hanged in the vigil area such as "Freedom for the academics for peace", "Freedom for arrested academics". The support visits have continued. Adana MP of The People's Democratic Party (HDP) Meral Danış Beştaş, co-spokeperson of the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Gülistan Kılıç, Peace Mothers, journalists and authors Nuray Mert, Hasan Cemal and Cengiz Çandar and co-spokesperson of the Peace Bloc Prof. Dr. Gencay Gürsoy visited the vigil to support the academics.
