7 of detained politicians jailed

AMED – 18 Kurdish politicians were detained on April 10 during raids on the offices of the Free Women's Congress (KJA) and the Democratic Union of Local Authorities of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP). Seven of them have been jailed by court.

18 Kurdish politicians were detained on April 10 during operations which were organized simultaneous in Diyarbakır, Antep, Van and Ankara. 12 of them named Fatma Duman, Ridvan Sincar, FIrat Yıldız, Turan Genç, Yusuf Koyuncu, Abdullah Cin, Serdar Tosun, Orhan Karaca, Aziz Mahmut Çınar, Fevzi Aydemir, İbrahim Durmuş and Mehmet Taha Burakmak were sent to Diyarbakır Courthouse for “arrest” yesterday and then sent to court on duty without being taken their testimonies by prosecution.

Rıdvan Sincar, Turan Genç, DBP PM members Yusuf Koyuncu, Abdullah Cin, Serdar Tosun, DBP Yenişehir District Administrator İbrahim Durmuş and Mehmet Taha Burakmak were sent to jail in the morning on charged of “being a member of a terrorist organisation”.

Meanwhile, Fırat Yıldız, Fatma Duman, Orhan Karaca, Aziz Mahmut Çınar and Fevzi Akdemir have been released.

The co-chair of the Democratic Union of Local Authorities Çimen Işık, members of the Democratic Regions Party PM Pero Dündar and Olcay Kanlıbaş, the member of the Free Women Congress (KJA) Zozan Toprak, the General Accountant of the DBP Hüseyin Yılmaz and the member of the DBP PM Fırat Alökmen were sent to jail in last two days. 13 Kurdish politicians, who were detained during the operations on Kurdish politicians, have been jailed so far.
