İSTANBUL -Piran Hacıbektaşoğlu dreamed an equal world when she was 16 years old and she began to seek equality by working in factory to organize the people. Piran called on all people to Mai 1, International Workers' Day.
Female workers' struggle has continued since 1880. Female workers wrote a history when they occupated textile factories by being killed. They have continued to be exploited in home as unpaid workers. However, female workers, who have organized between thunderous machines, have continued to say "Equal salary to equal work". Piran Hacıbektaşoğlu, who devotes her life to organization of women, is one of these women.
Pirman, who devotes her life to struggle of women and class, began to struggle when she was 18 years old. Pirman began to believe in a world in her dream will be real when she was 16 years old. She took her part in the class conflict as young woman. Pirman began to work in textile sector and other sectors. Then, she beagn to work in Fako Pharmaceutical Factory in 1993. Pirman told these years as, "I began to work in factory in the dream of organization. I couldn't talk to the people, who worked in the factory, without knowing them. Beginning organizing took five years in the factory. Everyone knew my socialists identity in five years. When I began to organize the people with this identity, everyone told me, "If you are here, we'll stand with you."
Pirman said that they organized in four separate points with more than 2,000 workers. They occupied the factory. "Occupation of the factory failed due to the attitude of the unions and the legal process, but we had achievements. Women said, "We aren't sorry to be fired from job, we learned to play the game." When women begin to say, "I am the subject of the production and life", they will organize faster. When a married woman goes out at night for two hours, the people tell her "Shameless".However, a woman can work overtime at night, because she earns money. We should realize the hypocrisy. The money that women earn is the money of the men. Men take women's cash cards.
Class conflict is women's struggle. Women's struggle feeds the class conflict. I call on all women to attend the activites of Mai 1, International Workers' Day.
