Seyhan women's solidarity with Cizre, Sur, Silopi

ADANA - A support to aid campaign that have been organized for the people in Cizre, Sur and Silopi which have been subjected to genocidal attacks in Kurdistan, came from Seyhan women. Women will provide clothes to the children in Cizre, Sur and Silopi with the money they raised. Women called on all people to support the campaign by saying, "Day is the day of unity".
The AKP government began war policies against the cities and districts of Kurdistan after June 7, 2015. Many cities and districts have been demolished and the people have been displaced forcibly. Campaign has been organized in Turkey and Kurdistan to support and help the people in demoslied cities and districts like Sur, Cizre and Silopi under the leadership of the Free Women's Congress (KJA). Women in Adana began to work in the Dağlıoğlu neighborhood of Adana's Seyhan district to support the campaign. Women, who organize by themselves, will provide clothes for the children in Cizre, Sur and Silopi with the money they raised. One of these women is Muazzez Seçkin (40). She said she won't keep silent and everyone must do their best to support the people.
"Day is the day of unity" said Muazzez and she emphasized that the importance of the work conducted with three of her friends. Muazzez stated that children suffer the most during war. "While children in Cizre, Sur and Silopi were shot in the streets and they were displaced, our children lived on the fat of the land. That's unfair. The chidren suffer the most during war. I didn't want to keep silent as a woman and mother. We know our work is not enough, but, it can be an example at least."
Another woman Hamdiye Işık (40) pointed out that all women must support their work. Hamdiye said that everyone can do something for the people in Kurdistan. "The war of the state devastates the people. They have attacked the citizens's houses with mortar and tanks. We have to raise the solidarity with our people and we must provide all their needs."
Mother of six Mevlide Çetinkaya (44) said that she cannot nuy clothes to her children while the children in Kurdistan don't have clothes. She said, "Our children were killed in basements by leaving them thirsty and hungry." Mevlide said that we can overcome the war by uniting. Everyone must be in solidarity with the children in Kurdistan's cities.
