ŞIRNEX- Şırnak people have maintained their life in tents on highland. Women watch the demolishing of Şırnak from hills.

Citizens haven't left their lands by settling on highland in Şırnak where the state has imposed its displacing policies within the scope of the concept of genocide. The people, who put up tents on highland, witness the demolishment of Şırnak everyday. Every woman, who watchs Şırnak by climbing to hills, has a different life story. Every woman, who we talked, shed tears for their children in the streets of city. One of these women is Sarya Külter, the mother of the YPS member Mehmet Sait Külter, who died when he protected his lands. Sarya said, "The each child, who is writing a history in those streets, is my child." And she continued to watch Şırnak.

"My child witnessed the torture of his father and he didn't obey the oppression." said Sarya and she began to explain the times in 1990s. "The state tortured all of us in 1990s. They forced us to cook bread for them. One day, they raided our home and they took my husband. They tortured him for two days. Then, they brought him back. My children witnessed their father tortured. My son didn't obey and he fought for our lands against the oppression. He fell a martyr for us.

"They had forced us to leave our villages and they forced us to leave Şırnak now. However, we don't want to be far away from our children and lands. We put up our tents on this highland. We watch the demolishment of Şırnak every day. They demolished our houses in 1990s, but we didn't abondon our lands. We'll rebuld our life again in our lands, if they demolish our homes. My children fell as martyrs for those lands. I cannot leave them.

"Each bomb hits Şırnak harrows me. I buried two of my children two weeks ago. Hundrends of my children are in Şırnak now. We'll return to our homes whenever the ban is lifted. They are demolishing our city now. However, we'll go to the destroyed and demolished city jus for spite of the enemy. We'll put up our tents there."
